Small portions still need structure

A small meal is more useful when it has a clear job: protein anchor, backup snack, breakfast fallback, travel option, or low-appetite dinner.

The goal is not to eat the smallest possible amount. The goal is to make a smaller meal do enough work without relying on random grazing.

Protein first, add-ons second

When appetite is unpredictable, finish the most useful part first. For many meals, that means protein before starch, sauces, chips, dessert, or high-volume sides.

If the meal is too small to cover the day, plan a second protein opportunity later rather than forcing a large plate.

When small portions are not enough

Persistent low intake, dehydration, severe nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or inability to meet basic nutrition needs should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.
